Eating disorders

What are eating disorders?
Eating disorders are psychiatric illnesses caused by the interaction of psychological, biological, sociocultural and family factors. They are characterised essentially by significant changes of eating. They have higher incidence in industrialized countries and occur on a smaller scale in developed countries and little outside of the Western world. It should not be a fashion, but the cultural pressure for being slim and dissatisfaction and concern about the weight can contribute, together with other factors, for an increase in vulnerability, which in turn can lead to a diet. It is pertinent to note that the diet alone is not a sufficient condition for the launch of a food disorder, but it is a necessary condition, since there are no disturbances without food diet. They affect particularly young women. You see that adolescence is a sensitive phase in which the teenager builds his/ her position in the world. The fact that his/ her personality is under construction make it more vulnerable to such disorders, not only by their need and desire for integration in the social enviornment that surrounds him/ her, and the desire to be accepted and fall in standards of beauty currently established...
